E. Coli resurrected in lab - coming to a terrorist attack near you in the near future?

Wired has a great article on resurrecting E. Coli:

A handful of bacterial genes crucial to survival were successfully replaced by artificial ones in a new synthetic-biology experiment.

It’s not clear how the synthetic genes rescued the doomed E. coli bacteria, which had several important sequences of DNA knocked out of its genome. But scientists think synthetic proteins produced by the new genes replaced the missing natural versions.

“To enable life you need genes and proteins, which are information and machines,” said molecular biologist Michael Hecht of Princeton University, co-author of the study published online in PLoS ONE. “These evolved over a very long period of time, but we wanted to ask, ‘Are they really special, or can we make stuff like them from scratch?’ It seems we can.”

One of synthetic biology’s primary goals is to create customizable organisms able to produce food, fuel or pharmaceuticals; clean toxins from the environment; or even function as computers.

Most synthetic-biology experiments, including the J. Craig Venter Institute’s recent creation of a synthetic life form, rely on existing genes in nature. In the new experiment, however, Hecht and his team engineered a semi-random library of 1.5 million made-from-scratch genes.

Genes contain instructions for building proteins, which are made of units called amino acids. There are 20 different amino acids a protein can be made of, and some sequencesmake a protein fold into three dimensions.

Each gene in Hecht’s synthetic library calls for proteins made of 102 amino acids. Yet, instead of randomly filling each spot, the genes included sequences prompting them fold into four-helix structures (right).

“Folding in three dimensions [is required for functionality] when it comes to proteins, so the library isn’t completely randomized,” Hecht said. “You might think of it as a targeted shotgun of randomness instead of a bomb of it.”

Twenty-seven strains of E. coli, each missing one gene critical for survival, individually mingled with the synthetic-gene library. Four strains of bacteria incorporated a synthetic gene into their DNA and grew on Petri dishes that contained only the bare nutrients for survival. Without the new genes, the four strains didn’t grow at all.

Taking the rescue of doomed microbes further, Hecht’s team made a strain of E. coli missing all four genes from the previous experiments. When the synthetic replacement genes from the library were added, the microbe was rescued.

“I think this is a very interesting start to some more research,” said biotechnologist Andrew Ellington of the University of Texas at Austin, who was not involved with the experiments. “I’d like to see more proof that these proteins are doing what [Hecht] says they’re doing…. There may be some weird things going on.”

Hecht said “it would be nice” to untangle the biochemistry of his genetic rescues, adding that the synthetic genes weren’t exactly optimum replacements for nature’s versions that were chiseled over billions of years of evolution. But he said that’s not the biggest takeaway from the experiment.

“We know which specific genetic sequences rescue the strains, even if we don’t yet know how they work,” Hecht said.

In addition to following up on the biochemistry of the genes that revived the bacteria, Hecht’s laboratory plans to engineer more-complex libraries and knock out even-more-crucial genes.

“‘How far can you go with this?’ is what we want to know. Could you knock out 100 genes and rescue all of them? Eventually a whole genome?” Hecht said.

President Obama's Presidency to be Terminated?

Interesting indeed! It has been rumored for a while now that Obama was not fit for his role as President, as The White Hat reports, and I quote:

From the moment Barrack Hussein Obama announced he was a candidate for the office of the President, his credentials have been under constant and considerable scrutiny by the finest Constitutional legal minds in our Country.  

As President, in each of the legal challenges presented to the Supreme Court, the legal question presented is not what the Honorable Court preferred to hear or the case of the Plaintiff was not proper and deemed not to have “standing” or “merit”.  As always, the Court was positioning to hear the correct positions and arguments, so the Court could opine and rest the matter forever.  The longer the proper legal challenges took to develop, the more difficult it would be to unwrap all of the damage that Obama, and his special interest groups, would bestow on the American people and the international community (i.e. Obama's totally ignorant comment from the White House podium declaring the French are America's closest ally.  This ignorant statement insults Great Britain and the rest of our most important allies and relationships).

The continual thread of the legal arguments is relative to Obama's required constitutional credentials. Specifically, if he meets the eligibility requirements to be the President of the United States of America as defined in the Constitution.  Apparently, Obama's political tricksters, the special interests groups, the Chicago and the D.C. Beltway groups, which tilt their heads to the Obama faction, thought they could hijack America and out fox all of the Americans that hold the Constitution close to their heart.  The Supreme Court heard each case brought before it, rendered an opinion and moved on to the next case.  All of the previous cases have been denied for lack of 'Standing' or being 'Frivolous'.

As we stated in our last report, about 18 months ago at a college public speaking engagement, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts was confronted by Dr. Orly Taitz with a suitcase of 350,000 confirmed signatures from World Net Daily and other sources. Dr. Taitz asked the Supreme Court to hear the complaints about Obama's required credentials including his status as a natural born citizen of the United States of America since he was not properly vetted for the Presidency due to the wrangling of Obama's special interest friends.  Chief Justice Roberts promised Dr. Taitz publicly he would review the information.  It appears that Roberts kept his promise as the matter was heard before the Supreme Court Justices on Friday, January 7th, 2011.

The outcome of this single case has been in the specter of legal scholars for many months as the target issue lies within the confines of the Article Two, Section One of the Constitution of the United States of America, as quoted below:

 “Qualifications. The President must be a 'natural born citizen' of the United States,
   at least 35 years old … “  

If we break this down to its simplest common denominator and confine the argument to the true meaning of the Founding Fathers, Obama's mother, upon the conception Barrack Hussein Obama, was married to a verified Kenyan citizen, meaning he does not have the blood of two (2) verifiable citizens of the United States of America.  Not only do we have the records but so do all of the National Security agencies charged with protecting American interests by the letter of the law.  As of this date, the issue of Obama's citizenship status has become a National Security matter due to the wrangling of a group of people attempting to keep their candidate in office at all costs.  For the record, and to this date, the American public and the Supreme Court have yet to receive the answers required to this question and Obama has yet to provide his long-form birth certificate and answer other Interrogatories.

In the Supreme Court, the test for Obama, his cronies and this Administration, is for Obama to prove that he is a Natural born Citizen.  Obama can't do that as he has a Certified Birth Certificate in Kenya and 'Certificate of Live Birth' from the State of Hawaii.  Herein lays the quandary for Obama, his cronies and the Court.  Obama does not have the ability to prove and cannot provide a certified document providing for a true birth certificate for any of the American states.  The only record of his birth is in Kenya. 

From extremely high and very credible sources within the Judicial system, it has been reported that Obama and his legal team lost their arguments to have this case dismissed.  The Court heard the applicable arguments from each side and held, in short form; the Obama did not meet the residency requirements as set forth in the Constitutional of the United States of America.  A preliminary vote in favor of the Plaintiff was taken, with Associate Justice Elena Kagan not voting due to her previous political relationship and involvement with Obama's birth certification issues.

The Supreme Court is holding on to the decision and will not publish its decision for the sake of the American political process. What does this mean and why would they choose this path?

Notwithstanding the difficulty before the Judicial system as to what to do with an unlawfully sitting President, the real problem comes after the fact.  This President has been sitting in the office illegally for two (2) years while propagating conjecture about American life and liberty, pushing his agenda, signing bills into law, issuing Executive Orders and trying to act as a real President.   It is for this reason that all of the American Security agencies consider this single item a National Security matter with the single question:  How do you control an out of control person acting as President?

Although the Court has not recorded or published their finding, there is already disinformation being propagated that the Court ruled in favor of Obama.  This is not true.

SCENARIOS FOR POSSIBLE SUCCESSORS

With the Court opinion in hand and everyone attempting to make sense of the underlying issues to be addressed, our analysis, based on what we have reported previously, is that any person in a position for an executive seat is a named party in criminal allegations of bank fraud, theft, unauthorized usage of government assets, etc.  Review previous White Hat reports.  The proof of these allegations exists.   Hence, we know the following:

1. The Supreme Court is holding on to its decision and not publishing due to the damage it would do.

2. It has been opined that Obama in the near future will resign from the Office of The Presidency.   The political machine is now determining how to spin his resignation so the American people can grasp something simpler than he never had the credentials to serve as President.  The reason will not be his birth certificate issue. 

3. The Supreme Court will publish their findings after Obama's resignation is detailed to the American people. Once Obama resigns the Supreme Court can simply dismiss the case and avoid any embarrassment of the parties.

4. One possible scenario would be for Biden to step down first, due to his well publicized participation with George Bush Senior, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Mitt Romney in the theft of Falcone's funds or due to the political spin of his alleged brain cancer... whichever works best.  Obama will appoint Hillary Clinton as Vice President.  Obama steps down and Hillary becomes President.  The Clinton machine has always wanted Hillary as President.  If this happens, the information on the funds she has stolen will become exposed.  The funds that Hillary took are substantially greater than the amount Biden took.  Remember that Hillary bribed Biden per Bush Senior's request.

5. Obama could resign first and allow Biden to become President.  Biden would then appoint a new Vice President, but this appointment would have to be approved by both Congresses.  This option seems less likely, but is certainly possible since the White House has been trying to enhance Biden's image. The criminal allegations against Joseph Biden are too great to allow him to become President.  

It is our sincere desire for all individuals to understand the monumental issues stated above and, in concert, with all of the information contained in our previous reports.  We have stated that the Executive branch of the government has failed us. Will Congress, fail us, too? Or will they do their duty, keep their responsibility to their constituents and honor their oath to the Constitution and protect America from enemies, both foreign and DOMESTIC?

We have heard from Americans and people from all walks of life including people from other countries who are wondering what has happened to the United States of America. Our purpose has been to inform the public and expose the corruption that threatens our freedoms, both now and in the future.  Therefore, we implore you to contact your Senators and Representatives.  Let them hear your voice and let your voice hold weight.  Tell them your opinion.  Hold your elected officials accountable for every act they perform on your behalf!!

Australia sends seeds to Norway Doomsday Vault

Isn't this a pleasant post! Australia are sending the first of which will be many deposits of seeds to an international seed bank. The seeds are transported to a chilled Norwegian bunker near the North Pole, where they have collected seeds as an insurance policy against disease and disaster.

The seeds Australia have sent are from a Horsham seed bank and includes a rare Australian chickpea. The seeds are being sent on Friday to the remote island of Spitsbergen, 1300 kilometres from the North Pole.

Now onto the more interesting bit of this news, the vault.

The Svalbard Global Seed Vault, which is often referred to as the "doomsday vault" is an ex-coalmine that has stored seeds for nearly three-decades.

The vault has an ever-expanding collection which contain samples from 1/3 of the world's most important food crop varieties. Numbers are in the 400, 000 mark, which are all stored underground at minus 18 degrees.

It really hits home, with all of the scary-stuff happening world wide in the form of bird and fish deaths, earthquakes, flash-flooding in Queensland, Australia and the various other constant wars and famine - that this type of stuff is done (which is in a way a good thing), it just really makes you think.

Thunderstorms shoot beams of Antimatter into space!

Well, I did not know this! Amazing find. Wired's article is quite good.

SEATTLE — Forget about gamma rays from the hearts of distant galaxies. Scientists now believe gamma rays, as well as beams of energetic particles of antimatter, are common components of lightning storms right here on Earth.

In 2009, researchers announced that NASA’s Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope had, for the first time, detected gamma rays produced by antimatter generated in terrestrial lightning storms (SN: 12/5/09, p. 9).

Now, after analyzing additional gamma-ray signals produced by terrestrial positrons — the antimatter counterpart to electrons — Michael S. Briggs of the University of Alabama in Huntsville and his colleagues think that the antimatter beams do not require special conditions to be generated. Briggs presented the latest findings during a news briefing January 10 at the winter meeting of the American Astronomical Society. Details will also appear in an upcoming Geophysical Research Letters.

“The idea that any planet has thunderstorms that not only produce antimatter but then launch it into space seems like something straight out of science fiction,” commented Steven Cummer of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, who was not part of the study. “That our own planet does this, and has probably done it for hundreds of millions of years, and that we’ve only just learned it, is amazing to me.”

According to Briggs, positrons and electrons form in terrestrial gamma-ray flashes, short bursts of gamma rays produced inside thunderstorms. (First observed in the 1990s, gamma-ray flashes are still not well understood.) When the positrons meet up with the electrons, they annihilate each other, producing gamma rays of a specific energy: 511,000 electron volts.

The Fermi observatory has usually been located directly above thunderstorms when it has detected positron-generated gamma rays, but in four cases, the lightning storms were thousands of kilometers away from the region on Earth that the telescope was observing.

In one striking event on December 14, 2009, Fermi was orbiting over Egypt when the only active storm was in Zambia, some 4,500 kilometers to the south. Because the storm was not in Fermi’s line of sight, the craft could not have detected gamma rays that came directly from the terrestrial disturbance. Yet, Fermi did record gamma rays characteristic of annihilation between electrons and positrons that lasted for 30 milliseconds, the longest it has ever recorded such terrestrial signals.

Briggs’ team suggests that electrons and positrons produced in the Zambia storm surfed along Earth’s magnetic field to strike the Fermi craft. Many of the electrons and positrons annihilated each other immediately, producing the telltale gamma rays. But some of the particles continued on past Fermi and were magnetically reflected back toward the craft 23 milliseconds later, only then pairing off to produce the gamma rays.

The newly discovered antimatter beams “gives us some very important information that we can use to piece together what is going on when lightning initiates and propagates,” Cummer said.

Triple punch hole clouds - Myrtle Beach, 2011

A section of cloud in Myrtle Beach has seen a triple punch hole phenomenon. It looks quite bizarre, and leaves people dumbfounded as to what could cause it.

To quote a resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina "I've lived by the sea for many years, but never seen anything like this" says Wesley Tyler, he continues saying "On Friday, January 7th, there were three punch hole clouds in the same place" as seen below:

Most people would jump straight to HAARP or something similar, but supposedly there is a scientific explanation for this phenomenon.

Recently meteorologists have penetrated the mystery: punch holes form when airplanes fly through thin layers of high altitude clouds. If water droplets in the cloud are supercooled (below freezing but still liquid), they can suddenly turn to snow when shocked by the passage of the plane. This mini-snowstorm occurs over a circular area much wider than the airplane itself.

Not all flights through banks of clouds will produce snow. According to Wired Magazine, only about 7.8 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered with clouds at the right elevation for supercooled droplets to form. Because jet aircraft don’t generally cruise at those altitudes, they may only form hole-punch clouds when they take off or land.

The apparition of three rare cloud-holes in one small area suggests a busy airspace around Myrtle Beach. Indeed, the Myrtle Beach International Airport is just miles from where the photo was taken. Or maybe punch hole clouds are a bit of a mystery after all.

Believe what you wish, some feel safer with the explanation above, some will still claim HAARP. The thing is, we'd never really know.

All governments and corporations should be working toward a single goal

Why is it that all governments and corporations only work toward taxing the people, bailing out banks, starting and continuing multiple wars, taking away our freedom, etc.

• Hospitals should be free, everything done medically should come at no cost to a human being, anywhere.
• Car manufacturers should be working toward making totally energy efficient cars/transportation
• Heading toward completely green production, less factories polluting not just earth but the surrounding populations
• Banks - to be completely stripped of their powers, all records to be completely public
• Stock Market to have strict rules, not to be able to hold the worlds financial position in its hands
• All wars to be stopped - completely
• All laws to be changed, if you commit a crime, the penalty is the same. Murder = death penalty. Rape = death penalty. Bashing = all possessions taken and 5 years in jail. Make people scared of doing bad things to people and they won't be as quick to do them. Make them think twice.

This is a short, short list. Let's bite into it one by one.

• The medical industry is controlled by the pharmaceutical industry. This is worth trillions over lifetimes. They know that you WILL be sick in your lifetime and they make billions off of this monthly. If this were free, we'd be talking about the obliteration of pharmaceuticals all together. Surely the technology we have, if it had an unlimited budget could cure virtually all diseases within 20 years if given said budget.
• Car manufacturers are controlled by the OIL industry. Again, strip them of their powers. They do not own the oil, the oil is a part of this planet. No single corporation or body owns that oil, why should they charge for it? Yes they have to pay for the tools to get to it and refine it, again - this industry is never going to stop charging for it. Oil and fuel will never be cheaper... 
• Green production should be started at all factories, if these companies want to sell you goods - then they should ensure the production facilities are upgraded.
• Banks - no need to really elaborate. They should be made to NOT make profits. Only enough to cover operating costs. There's no need to have 100 different banks competing - this costs so much money in wasted things like advertising, rent, etc, etc. A few banks, giving different deals and no profits, just covering basic costs like electricity, rent, employees, etc.
• Stock market should really be controlled - this causes frequent issues, I don't even see the need for one personally.
• Wars - countries thrive on this. The US has no warrant to be in a war with countries, if countries have conflict, let them work it out - cut all shipment of goods to them. Offer anyone wanting asylum to move to another country - this is something very political, but it's not fair on the women and children that are massacred in various countries.
• Laws - really, that covered it. Why should a murderer be allowed bail or to be released after a sentence? Taking someone else's life is never something that should be done, if they did something bad enough to warrant being murdered then a new law system in place would make them pay.

Obviously this touches on just a few things, but the way we're dealing with things now - it will NEVER EVER improve.

Do you think fuel will ever get cheaper? Banks will stop charging interest? Every day living will get cheaper? You'll somehow earn more money if various bits of the economy/countries collapse? No.

There are big changes coming.
There are big changes needed.

We need to as citizens of various countries, use our voices. Don't be drones who go to work day in, day out, paying your overpriced mortgage, turning a blind eye to all of this stuff.

It's surprising the amount of people who just cave in to "life". Life is what you make it, not what you're told to do.

All the governments of the world and corporations that make more than $10 million a year in profits should all be forced to something along these lines. Working toward a goal of making the human race a thing to be PROUD OF. A thing to CHERISH.

If a "higher being" were to visit us, or if there really were a "GOD" would those beings look at us and think we're being treated correctly? An animal in a cage has more rights than us.

An animal in a cage gets everything given to them, for free - they live out their lives in confinement.

A human being, requires a drivers license to drive which costs you money every time you renew it. The car you paid for requires constant maintanence, and then a seperate set of insurance to drive with which costs money every month. You require a bank account to get paid which then costs you money every month.

Think of every day living costs - you are trapped, you will never get out of those. You are a complete slave to paying these things. You don't get an option to NOT pay them. You pay for your electricity, your gas, water, shelter, food, everything costs. Nothing in life is free.

Everything gets more expensive, it will never get cheaper without change.

Open your eyes, there are more people doing so and with a larger amount of people doing this, we might be able to head toward a change.

OBAMA promised change - please, tell me how he has made America a better place... there will never be peace. For so many people to believe in a God, there is so much corruption in the Federal Government. Corruption in the Vatican.

These are people of God, people who talk about God in politics - yet, rob the normal man, BLIND.

Tunisian protests - SHTF pretty badly right now

There are some serious protests going on in Tunisian right now over unemployment, corruption and poor living conditions in the Maghreb country. The protests started on 18th of December 2010 and are still going.

This protest represents the most dramatic wave of social and political unrest in over 30 years.

The Tunisian government has said it will listen to protesters, after weeks of unrest over high unemployment and the cost of living left dozens of people dead and raised the tensions.
Samir al-Obaidy, the country's communications minister, told Al Jazeera that the government was responding to the unrest.
"The message has been received by the government and all political channels," he said.
"With the backing of the president, we have already put in place urgent measures and allocated $5bn for the development of various areas."
Government officials reported that 14 people were killed since Saturday in clashes between the security forces and protesters in the towns of Thala, Kasserine and Regueb.
However, Tunisian union sources said that the number was at least 20.
In a statement, several political parties and movements, including the Progressive Democratic Party and the Renewal Movement, called on the government to stop the violence.
They called for "a ceasefire and the return of all military and security forces to their compounds", as well as the "release of all detainees including political ones".
The opposition also demanded more freedoms and asked the government to respect the political will of the people.

There were reports of police obstructing demonstrators and using tear gas on hundreds of young protesters in Sidi Bou Zid in mid-December. The protesters had gathered outside regional government headquarters to demonstrate against the treatment of Mohamed Bouazizi who had set himself on fire to protest the police confiscation of fruit and vegetables he was trying to sell on the streets. Coverage of events was limited by Tunisian media. On 19 December, extra police were present on the streets of the city.^[9]

On 22 December, Lahseen Naji responded to "hunger and joblessness." by electrocuting himself after climbing an electricity pylon.^[10] Ramzi Al-Abboudi also killed himself because of financial difficulties arising from a business debt by the country's micro-credit solidarity programme.^[7] On 24 December, Mohamed Ammari was fatally shot in the chest by police in Bouziane. Other protesters were also injured, including Chawki Belhoussine El Hadri, who died later on30 December.^[11] Police claimed they shot the demonstrators in "self-defence." A "quasi-curfew" was then imposed on the city by police.^[2]

Violence later increased as Tunisian authorities and residents of Sidi Bou Zid Governorate encountered each other once again. The protests had reached the capital Tunis^[10] on 27 December with about 1,000 citizens expressing solidarity^[12] with residents of Sidi Bou Zid and calling for jobs. The rally, which was called by independent trade union activists, was stopped by security forces. The protests also spread to Sousse, Sfax and Meknassi.^[13] The following day theTunisian Federation of Labour Unions held another rally in Gafsa which was also blocked by security forces. At the same time about 300 lawyers held a rally near the government's palace in Tunis.^[14] Protests continued again on the 29 December.^[15]

On 30 December, police peacefully broke up a protest in Monastir while using force to disrupt further demonstrations in Sbikha and Chebba. Momentum appeared to continue with the protests on 31 December and further demonstrations and public gatherings by lawyers in Tunis and other cities following a call by the Tunisian National Lawyers Order. Mokhtar Trifi, president of the Tunisian Human Rights League (LTDH), said that lawyers across Tunisia had been "savagely beaten."^[11] There were also unconfirmed reports of another man attempting to commit suicide in El Hamma.^[16]

On 3 January, protests in Thala over unemployment and a high cost of living turned violent. A demonstration of 250 mostly students in support of the protesteors in Sidi Bouzid was met by police firing of tear gas, a canister of which also landed in a local mosque. In response, the protesters were reported to have set fire to tyres and attacked the office of Constitutional Democratic Rally.^[17]

Some of the more general protests sought changes in the government's online censorship, where a lot of the media images have been broadcast. Tunisian authorities also allegedly carried out phishing operations to take control of user passwords and check online criticism. Both state and non-state websites had been hacked.^[18]

On 6 January, 95% of Tunisia's 8,000 lawyers went on strike, according to the chairman of the national bar council. He said "The strike carries a clear message that we do not accept unjustified attacks on lawyers. We want to strongly protest against the beating of lawyers in the past few days."^[19]It was reported on the following day that teachers had also joined the strike.^[20]

Reports indicated that weblogers and a rap singer were arrested. Slim Amamou and Azyz Amamy, two activists, were reported to have "disappeared" as no news was heard about them.Reporters Without Borders said the arrest of at least six webbloggers and activists who had either been arrested or disappeared across Tunisia was brought to their attention and that there were "probably" others.^[21]
